This month hasn't gone exactly how I had planned, but that's okay with me. My intentions to participate in my first ever NaNoWriMo were interrupted when I quit my job to start fresh managing a small dental office while spearheading their journey into social media and marketing.
Clearly, having no previous experience in the dental field my head has been swimming with new verbiage, and phrasing associated with teeth. Words I never knew existed. Did you know there are eight different names for the sides of a tooth? Or, that baby teeth generally fall out in the order they came in? If I'm not working, or spending quality time with my family, I am studying dental textbooks and diagrams. It's left little to no time for writing, or evening reading, which has left me starving to dive into my next read, "Wonder." It doesn't help that the little has been teething something horrible. She hasn't been able to lay flat on her back in weeks due to a ferociously nasty runny nose. We've been couch buddies; she sleeps, I stare into the darkness and wonder if I'll ever get to sleep in my own bed, next to my husband, ever again. Anyways, finishing my NaNoWriMo for this year it's just not possible. I'm already sleep deprived so I can't even sacrifice my nights for the sake of feeding the starving writer in me. Next November will be my November. For now, I will take this time to bask in and enjoy every moment of Shelby's first holiday season. So many new things to watch her absorb and experience.
